Remove the old door stops: If you already have door stops on your door, carefully remove them and sand the door frame to make sure it is level and smooth in preparation for the new door stops.

 

Measure the door frame: Measure the width and length of the top and sides of the door frame to determine the size of the moulding you need.

 

Cut the door stop moulding: Use a miter saw to cut the door stop moulding at a 45-degree angle. If the old door stop moulding is still there, use it as a reference.

 

Test the installation: Test the cut mouldings before actually installing them to make sure they fit tightly. Also, make sure the door frame is smooth and has no protrusions.
