Wall and Ceiling Panelling
Surface Preparation: Prepare the wall or ceiling surface by ensuring it is clean, smooth, and free of any loose material. If necessary, repair any holes or cracks and sand the surface to create an even base.
Layout and Marking: Measure the area and plan the layout of the panels. Mark the location of studs or joists on the wall or ceiling for proper fastening. If the panels are not being installed directly over studs or joints, you may need to use additional support such as furring strips.
Installation: Start at the top or one corner of the wall or ceiling. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the first panel and press it firmly into place. Align the tongue of the next panel with the groove of the first panel and slide it into place. Use a pneumatic nailer or brad nailer to secure the panels to the studs or furring strips through the tongue at regular intervals.
Cutting and Fitting: Cut the panels to fit around obstacles such as light fixtures, outlets, or corners. Use a circular saw, jigsaw, or miter saw depending on the type of cut needed. For a more finished look, you can fill any nail holes and sand the panels lightly before painting or staining.
