Do wood baseboards help with sound insulation or noise reduction?
Mar 12, 2024
While wood baseboards may provide a minor barrier to sound transmission, they are not specifically designed for sound insulation or noise reduction. Wood is a dense material that can absorb some amount of sound, but its effectiveness in reducing noise is limited compared to specialized soundproofing materials. For significant noise reduction, additional measures such as installing acoustic insulation behind walls, using soundproofing curtains or panels, or applying soundproofing materials to floors and ceilings may be necessary.
