Baseboard Installation Process
Feb 07, 2019
1. Drilling: Observe the wiring direction of water and electricity before drilling to prevent mistakes. The spacing between the holes should not be too large, otherwise the baseboard is difficult to stick to the wall.
Drill holes in the wall with special tools. The common length of the baseboard is 2m. In order to fix the baseboard more firmly, the interval between the holes should be about 40cm, and the spacing at the interface should be smaller.
Push the small wooden strip into the hole you just punched. The nails that hold the baseboard are nailed to the strip and nailed directly to the wall, and the nails are easily loosened.
Note: Since the pipe of the hydropower project is buried on the wall, the position of the pipe directly under the switch socket is a good position to avoid damage.
2. Fixing: Before fixing the skirting line, it is necessary to level and clean the wall surface. Otherwise, after the skirting line is installed, it cannot completely close the wall surface, leaving an unsightly gap.
Look at the location of the hole and fix the nail to the baseboard. When fixing, pay attention to whether the baseboard and the wall are tightly attached, and the nail should be completely immersed in the baseboard and cannot be seen.
Note: Regardless of the polymer, MDF, wood baseboard, there is thermal expansion and contraction characteristics, so the baseboard should also be like the floor, leaving a 1cm expansion joint.
3. Corner treatment: At the corner of the corner, where the baseboard intersects, the edge of the baseboard should be cut at a 45-degree angle so that the interface will not leave unsightly marks. Fix the cut skirting line. Note: The skirting of the corner must be cut and installed after being cut at a 45-degree angle, otherwise it will affect the appearance.
4. Installation points: The nails that fix the baseboard should use special threaded nails. This kind of fixing effect is better and it is not easy to loosen. Everyone should pay attention to whether the manufacturer is cutting corners.
The baseboard was originally designed to cover the expansion joints of the floor and make the ground more beautiful. Therefore, the edge of the skirting line should be smoothed with a plane.
The baseboard should be completely close to the wall, leaving no gaps, which is more beautiful, especially the corner. The flatness of the wall should be tested before installation.
